Think of it as the “protected-performance” version: a deep-groove ball bearing, plus an inner bushing to shield the shaft from wear and misalignment. It’s not a simple spacer—it’s a precision steel sleeve (often C45 or 42CrMo4, hardened), pressed into the sheave hub. When wear happens, this part takes the hit—not your shaft. Swap it out in minutes during maintenance; no lathe, no downtime.
When to Choose DIN 15421 (vs. DIN15418 or plain bearing types)
Pick DIN 15421 when:
• Your shafts are expensive or hard to replace (the bushing absorbs wear, not the shaft)
• Loads are heavy and alignment isn’t perfect (bushing tolerates slight misalignment)
• You want ball-bearing efficiency without risking direct metal-on-metal contactDIN 15418 (no bushing) is great for clean, aligned systems—but 15421 is the smarter choice for real-world, high-stakes environments.
